- Street Special Assessment Policy Review
Street Special Assessment Policy
The Village of Little Chute Board of Trustees, staff and Village residents worked throughout the fall of 2014 to discuss and analyze the Village's Street Assessment policy. While the Village will continue to welcome public comment and inputs on the street assessment policy, a new policy was adopted in January of 2015. In an effort to provide an overview of actions taken to date, below is a timeline that occurred to review the policy:
Below are both presentations provided to the Board, along with other documents related to the special assessment policy. Please take time to review the documents and provide us with any questions you may have. If you would like to see additional information or other FAQs answered, please contact the Village Administrator.
The policy attempts to reduce long-term costs associated with street reconstruction. It does so by reducing the size of streets, reducing storm-water treatment costs and long-term maintenance costs. In addition, this policy reduces the total portion of street reconstruction costs being assessed to property owners.
This topic will continually be assessed by the Board and staff and take into account changing fiscal policy at the state level as that could have an impact on the process currently used to reconstruct streets, particularly how any assistance is provided to the Village in terms of transportation aids. Should you have any questions or comments, please contact the Village Administrator.
